A sports field can be pretty simple, with many sports requiring only a level grassy area, portable goal posts, and markers. A sports field without seating, however, quickly becomes a problem.

Wood bleachers aren’t a good idea for outdoor use unless they’re kept well covered and protected by the elements. In general, bleachers are necessary once more than a few spectators gather at a sports field. It’s tough for everyone to get a good view of the entire field when spread out along the edges only. People in the corners will barely see the action on the other end of the field.
Raised bleachers provide the best views, but even non-elevated aluminum bleachers are an excellent option for creating comfortable and accessible seating. Letting guests bring their own seating and cluster around the center of the sidelines will leave the ground muddy and difficult to maintain. Bleachers prevent damage to the ground by creating a durable alternative to folding camp chairs. Guests and spectators will appreciate not having to remember their own seating as well.
Easy Maintenance
Aluminum is one of the easiest bleacher materials to maintain. Spills can be sprayed clean, and dirt can be scrubbed with a soft-bristled brush. If mildew becomes an issue or the entire bleacher needs a deep cleaning, pressure washing is an option that won’t damage the surface. Wood bleachers, in particular, are much harder to keep clean, and even steel is more likely to corrode than aluminum, requiring more routine inspections to ensure that they’re still safe to use in an outdoor setting.

Aluminum bleachers are available in complete kits to make setup a breeze. If there’s only a short time left before the start of a sports season or a big outdoor event, quick setup is essential. There’s no time for digging holes or pouring concrete to build permanently mounted bleachers. Choose a kit that includes any necessary railings, steps, and ramps for ADA approval.
